One of my big priorities is supporting education. We need a school system that graduates kids who go on to find good jobs or move on to higher education. We need to support making education a priority at the State Capitol. We need to focus on early education; in our District, we have a lot of families with young children. National standards like Common Core have put emphasis on 3rd grade as an indicator of success, and one thing we can do is make pre-K a priority so that children are ready.
