It has truly been an honor to have served you as your State House Representative for District 48 (Kāneʻohe-Kahaluʻu-Waiāhole) for the past three years. Iʻm proud of what weʻve accomplished in such a short time -- enacting laws to address polution in Kāneʻohe Bay, alleviate traffic on Kahekili Highway, and secure millions of dollars to bring our school infrastructure into the 21st century.
But as my wife and I struggle to raise our three young children in Kāneʻohe -- the place where we grew up and call home -- we canʻt help but feel like thereʻs so much more work to be done.
Thatʻs why Iʻm asking for your support as I look ahead.
I am announcing my candidacy for Hawaii State Senate District 24 (Kāneʻohe, Kailua).
As a state Senator, I will be able to provide the kind of leadership needed to get things done.
In the Senate, I will continue to work hard to tackle the tough issues that affect our community -- drugs and homelessness, the urgent need for affordable housing, and the lack of economic opportunity. Together, we can work to get results to make this district a prosperous, safe and enjoyable place to live, work, and raise a family.
In the coming weeks, Iʻll be walking the district to seek your input. With your help, we can continue making progress that actually helps people and creates a brighter future for our community.
